THE distinguished Taipei Symphony Orchestra (TSO) with conductor Hubert Soudant, will be in the Philippines for two concerts in November 2011. The concert will feature as soloists Ray Chen, a Taiwanese violinist, and Filipino pianist Raul M. Sunico.

The TSO will hold its gala performance on November 4, 8:00 pm at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater. An outreach concert in Batangas City will be held prior to the gala concert on November 2, 5:00 pm, at the St. Bridget College Manuela Q. Pastor Auditorium. The outreach event is presented by Atty. Tony Pastor and St. Bridget College.

A violin master class will be conducted by Ray Chen on November 4, 10:30 am, at the CCP Little Theater.

The forthcoming concerts of the TSO are part of the activities being held for the Federation for Asian Cultural Promotion (FACP) 29th Annual Conference slated on November 2-5, 2011 at the CCP. The FACP conference aims to promote the arts and culture of the Asia-Pacific region in the global context. It offers strategies for attracting and nurturing future audiences for each country’s cultural treasures, in particular, the performing arts. Around 200 delegates from all over Asia are expected to attend the Conference.
